Yarn: Big Baby Alpaca with a Twist (bulky, camel colored)

Cabled Newsboy Cap for Megan

knitted by: The Banana
Project Name: Cabled Newsboy Cap for Megan
Started/Finished: February 2007
Pattern Source: adapted from Stitch 'N Bitch Nation
Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash
Gauge: I forget
Needles: One size smaller than called for by pattern
Notes: When my coworker's daughter bravely participated in St. Baldrick's Day by shaving her hair in solidarity with a friend of hers going through chemo, I promised I would knit her a hat. After much searching for a suitable pageboy-style cap pattern I settled on a version of the one in the book. I didn't like the look in the original pattern of large patches of stockinette between the cables, so I added a few wide ribs between the cables going up the top. Plastic canvas inserted between two layers of knit keeps the brim firm. Regarding the color, the request was simply for anything "bright blue" and I don't think it gets much brighter than this!
